Doctor of the Day Registration

Volunteer Today for 2025 Doctor of the Day Program

The Arkansas Medical Society will again sponsor the Doctor of the Day program for the 2025 legislative session of the Arkansas Legislature. AMS members have provided this important service for over four decades. The session begins on Monday, January 13, 2025, and will continue for 60 days, but the Legislature can vote to extend.

Physician volunteers are needed Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. On Friday, volunteers are needed from 9 a.m. to noon. Please remember that Fridays may be canceled with little notice if the Legislature votes to recess on Thursday afternoon. Please provide your cell number on the form for quick notification. The Society will not share the number.

Doctors of the Day attend legislative committee meetings and have floor privileges in both chambers for introductions. AMS coordinates with the Arkansas Department of Health to provide nursing coverage when the infirmary is open. A parking pass will be sent one week prior to the designated date of service.
