Omar Atiq, MD of Pine Bluff Named New President

Little Rock, AR – Omar Atiq, MD, an oncologist from Pine Bluff, was installed as president of the Arkansas Medical Society at 7:00 p.m. on Friday, May 3, at the DoubleTree Hotel in Little Rock during the organization’s 137th Annual Session. Dr. Atiq has practiced medicine in Arkansas for over 20 years.

As president, Dr. Atiq will work with other physicians across the state for the betterment of health care in Arkansas. He has been actively involved with the Society since 1991 and has served on the AMS Board of Trustees since 2003. He also serves as an at-large member on the Arkansas State Medical Board.

The Arkansas Medical Society is a voluntary professional association, established in 1875, representing more than 4,000 physicians and medical students as well as the patients and communities they serve.
