New Bylaw Changes, House of Delegates Merged with Board of Trustees

At the Fall Meeting held on November 2 in Heber Springs new AMS Constitution and Bylaws were approved by the officers, district trustees and members in attendance.

The new bylaws eliminated the House of Delegates and transfered its responsibilities to the Board of Trustees and/or general membership.

An annual membership meeting will continue to be held and is scheduled for Friday, April 26 at the Doubletree Hotel in Little Rock. You won’t want to miss this day of networking and education, including hearing the outcome of issues faced during the 2019 legislative session.

The changes were made in an effort to increase member engagement, as well as to address the need for a “robust and nimble” policy making process that encourages membership involvement. For example, one change will allow all AMS members the opportunity to vote on the general officers, not just their district trustees.

The new bylaws can be reviewed here.
