The Arkansas Medical Society was honored as a Prism Award finalist and winner at the 2019 ARcom Award ceremony, held on Thursday, September 12, at the Mosaic Templars Cultural Center in Little Rock. The Prism Awards were presented by the Arkansas chapter of the Public Relations Society of America and the Arkansas chapter of the International Association of Business Communicators. The combined event brought together leading marketing and communications professionals from across the state.
AMS’s work was recognized in the Periodicals, Printed Materials category. The News Briefs newsletter was awarded the Prism for the Periodicals-Printed Materials section, and the Journal of the Arkansas Medical Society was named as a finalist in the same category.
“These publications are a critical tool in communicating with our members, and it truly is a team effort to produce these outstanding pieces,” said Laura Haywood, “Membership and Communications Specialist.
The News Briefs newsletter is designed, printed, and mailed to all members every other month, and is designed by Laura Haywood, Membership and Communications Specialist. The Journal’s managing editor, Nicole Richards executes the monthly publication, along with writer Casey Penn, advertising coordinator Penny Henderson, and graphic designer Jeremy Henderson. Laura Haywood and Laura Hawkins also serves as copy editors for the magazine.
