Practice Management Update: Prior Authorization Letters and MEDPARD

The practice management team at AMS has received the following information from AFMC regarding Prior Authorization letters for Medicaid services, as well as an update on MEDPARD from Novitas Solutions.  If you have any questions regarding this information or need practice management assistance, call 501-224-8967.

From Arkansas Foundation for Medical Care:   Please note the new directions to find these letters in the MMIS system.

Prior Authorization Letters 

Effective February 24, prior authorization (PA) letters will be linked to the appropriate prior authorization request in the HealthCare Portal. To open/view PA letters, access the prior authorization request using the search function through the “View Status of Authorizations” link under the Care Management tab. PA letters will no longer be found in Files Exchange.

From Novitas Solutions:  The 2021 Medicare Participation Physicians/Suppliers Directory (MEDPARD) is NOW AVAILABLE!

As in the past, there will be no hardcopy distributions. Beneficiaries can use Medicare.gov or contact 1-800-MEDICARE for assistance in locating a participating provider/supplier near their home.

• Mississippi
• New Mexico
• Oklahoma
• Texas

To access the directory, use the arrow drop-down windows to select a specific state, county and specialty. Click “Submit” and the provider/supplier choices will display in alphabetical order.
