Attestation Deadline for Meaningful Use Extended

The Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) announced that the original planned deadline date for all physicians who are attesting for Medicare Meaningful Use in 2013 has been extended from February 28 to March 31. The date has been delayed because the attestation system experienced a number of problems which stopped some physicians from submitting their attestation data.  Concerns were raised that physicians would miss the attestation deadline, and thus the opportunity for an incentive, unless more time was given.

Physicians who are seeking to attest should visit the CMS registration and attestation system. This deadline does not apply to attestation for PQRS or for those physicians participating in Medicaid Meaningful Use.
