Physicians Honored for 50 Years of Service to Healthcare
Eight physicians were recently inducted into the Arkansas Medical Society’s Fifty Year Club, which is composed of physicians who have practiced medicine for more than fifty years, during the organization’s annual meeting in Little Rock. The society would like to thank Drs. William Nevins (Searcy), Robert Bell (Russellville), Charles McClain (Batesville), Helen McClard (Bismark), Burton Moore (Little Rock), John Henderson (Searcy), Charles Paris (Fort Smith) and Terry Yamauchi (Little Rock) for their many contributions to the medical field and their dedication to healthcare.
The Arkansas Medical Society is a voluntary professional association, established in 1875, representing more than 4,300 physicians and medical students as well as the patients and communities they serve. This year in the Arkansas Legislature, AMS successfully supported legislation expanding access to physicians using telemedicine technologies, supported efforts to increase access to care through the Arkansas Works Medicaid expansion program, and supported a patient’s right to know where to find their physician in the event the physician changes practice location.
