Third Annual Prescription Drug Abuse Summit

home-RxJoin the U of A’s Criminal Justice Institute for their third annual summit to help reduce the number of deaths and addictions caused by prescription drug misuse and abuse. The event hopes to raise public awareness of the epidemic through partnerships with educational, medical, prevention and treatment entities. The summit will bring together and engage civic and community leaders, physicians, pharmacists, nurses, school resource officers, educators and law enforcement to work toward ending prescription drug abuse and misuse.

The Prescription Drug Abuse Summit is provided free to participants as a public service.

The Summit will be held:  September 10, 2014 at the Statehouse Convention Center in  Little Rock

There will also be a Prescription Drug Abuse Summit Kick-Off event co-sponsored by the Delta Regional Authority, the Arkansas Attorney General’s Office, and the Arkansas Drug Director’s Office on September 9th at the Ron Robinson Theater featuring “The Hungry Heart,” a documentary film on prescription drug addiction and recovery.
