UAMS College of Medicine Chair to be named after AMS

The Arkansas Medical Society Board of Trustees has approved a six-year plan to raise $500,000 of the $1.5 million needed to endow The Arkansas Medical Society Distinguished Dean’s chair.

The AMS and UAMS College of Medicine share strong bonds dating back over 130 years. By helping to establish the endowment, the AMS, the College of Medicine, and the Dean’s office will forever be linked together, appropriately recognizing the vital role that the organizations play in educating future Arkansas physicians.

AMS members across the state will have an opportunity to make tax deductible contributions towards the endowment with the remainder coming from AMS reserves. The UAMS Chancellor’s Office has committed to match the AMS contribution with $250,000 from discretionary foundation funds.
