Opioid Prescriptions Down 29% in Two Years
The Arkansas Center for Health Improvement (ACHI) conducted an analysis of naloxone and opioid prescriptions for Medicaid and private-insurance from state fiscal year 2017 to 2019, using data from the Arkansas All-Payer Claims Database to gain insight on the opioid epidemic. The study found that the number of Arkansans with opioid prescriptions dropped from 379,687 in fiscal 2017 to 268,241 in fiscal 2019, a 29% reduction.
